In this episode, Christoph Aistleitner from the Institute of Analysis and Number Theory discusses his teaching practice in mathematics and his path to Graz University of Technology. He talks about his career, his international experience in research and teaching, and how the study and teaching of mathematics at the university fundamentally begin. A particular focus is placed on understanding mathematical relationships, working with definitions, proofs, and arguments, as well as on the importance of discussion, pace, and structure in the lecture hall. Christoph Aistleitner explains why he deliberately teaches using a blackboard and chalk, how student feedback shapes his teaching, and what he personally enjoys most about teaching.
