Using your smartphone as a webcam

To use an iPhone as a camera for your computer, the device must have at least iOS 10.3. installed.

• Download the IriunWebcam App from the App store (external site)
• Download and install the corresponding programme on your computer on which you want to use the smartphone as a webcam later.
• Connect the smartphone to the computer via USB or, if necessary, via WiFi. Connection via USB is highly recommended, as in most cases it works without interruption or delay even over longer periods of time.
• Now open the IriunWebcam app on your smartphone. As soon as you start an application with video transmission on your computer, the app will be activated. The video source may still have to be specified in the application (e.g. in the browser). The name of the webcam that can be specified as the source in the browser is normally „Iriun Webcam“.
• Sobald Sie nun auf Ihrem Computer eine Anwendung mit Videoübertragung starten, wird die App aktiviert. Unter Umständen muss die die Videoquelle noch in der Anwendung (z.B. im Browser) angegeben werden. Der Name der Webcam, welche im Browser als Quelle festgelegt werden kann, heißt im Normalfall „Iriun Webcam“.

In order to be able to connect the Android smartphone to the computer via USB for video transmission, you must first call up the developer settings of your Android smartphone in order to activate USB debugging there.
